I hadn’t caught this statistic in my previous post.
This article shows that in 2007, Oklahoma ranked 8th on the list of the states with the highest closing costs. In 2006, Oklahoma didn’t even make the list.
This 2008 statistic is even more troubling. In two years, Oklahoma managed to jump at least 6 places to the number 4 position. What’s more, if you’ll compare the three lists, you’ll see that the top state, New York, only increased $127 from 2006 to 2008, while Oklahoma jumped $587 in just one year.
I’d be interested to find out why.
